Meet Hazel

Who I am

I am a descendant of the Gauls, Belgae, Danes, Franks, Saxons, and Scythians, born and raised in northern France, where I’ve traced my lineage back to the pre-Roman Atrebates tribe of my homeland.

Curious by nature, I’ve followed a path that led me from the forests of Europe to ten years in the deserts of Australia, and now to the Pacific coast of Canada, a place I once thought impossible to reach, visa-wise, and yet my ultimate dream and final destination for planting lasting roots.

I’ve come to realize that what I was seeking was resonance, a sustainable connection to land, to a progressive and meaningful community, and to the deeper rhythms of life where wildlife moves freely and reminds me of my place in the web of being. I found this in Australia’s desert, yet my belonging is to the northern hemisphere, where Ursa Major watches over my nights and the scents and vegetation recall my earliest memories.

I carry a deep love for my ancestral soil, where the bones of countless generations still speak, but I relate to it as a pilgrim. I return to drink from its memory without being overwhelmed, devoted to remembering and reweaving the ancient animist threads that live within me. Wherever I go, I listen for the land and the voices of those who came before.

Held by my ancestors

Through years of dedicated lineage healing, I have strengthened my connection to my roots, cultivated a deeper sense of belonging, and gained a wider perspective on life. This journey has brought greater meaning and purpose to my work and my relationships.

I draw on ancestral wisdom as a source of insight and resilience, which helps me create transformative spaces that are responsive to the individuals and groups I support. Together, we explore the layers of human experience, uncover pathways for lasting healing, and foster personal growth within the wider context of family systems, community, and our relationship with the Earth.

Inspiration & Experience

My work is deeply inspired by transpersonal psychology, ecopsychology, my personal relationship with the land, and the animistic values of our distant ancestors. In a world that has stretched the limits of human evolution, I firmly believe that the wisdom of our ancestors holds essential keys to humanity’s future on Earth.

I am trained in Ancestral Lineage Healing by Daniel Foor, PhD, founder of Ancestral Medicine and remain an active member of its practitioner network. I have also completed Trauma-Informed Grief Support training with Shauna Janz. My practice continues to be enriched by the insights of mythologist and storyteller Josh Schrei (The Emerald podcast), and by the many people I work with each day.

Additionally, I bring training in ecopsychology and psychogenealogy, alongside interest in psychotraumatology, attachment theory, nervous system regulation, grief work, astrology and astrocartography, which I use as tools for introspection, guidance, and co-creation. My approach also draws on The Work That Reconnects and body-based modalities such as IFS, TRE, Ortho-Bionomy, and Samvahan.

Rekindling the wisdom of the living world and ancestors within me has brought balance to my identity, my existence on Earth and my place within it.
